This naturally processed lot comes from smallholder producers growing heirloom varieties near Werka town, in Refisa Kebele, located in the Nensebo district of West Arsi. The coffee is processed at the Merdiya Washing Station, operated by Testi Specialty Coffee and serving around 750 local farmers.
Testi is known not only for its quality-driven processing methods but also for its deep involvement in the surrounding communities, especially its efforts to improve access to education for farmers’ children. This lot stands out for its meticulous care: hand-picked cherries are sorted for ripeness, floated to remove low-density seeds, and then dried for several weeks on raised beds with optimal airflow. The result is a thoughtfully crafted coffee that reflects both the land and the people behind it.
