Sumatra is known for producing earthy, full-bodied coffees that hold up beautifully to darker roasts, and this one is no exception. We take it as dark as we dare, stopping just before the roast overtakes the character of the bean itself.
What makes this particular lot special is that it was separated at origin as a standout, selected for its depth and distinctiveness among other regional coffees. It carries all the bold, earthy richness you expect from a classic Sumatran, with a heavy body and flavor notes that might remind you of a glass of Cabernet.
We especially love it brewed in a French Press on a chilly day; it’s the kind of cup that warms you from the inside out.
